Do I have to type in my entire resume, or can I just copy and paste it in?

You can do either. Most people prefer to copy and paste it in from another source, such as Microsoft Word. Once you have pasted your resume, you should check the formatting to make sure that it is correct. If after reviewing your resume you have no changes to make, click the 'Confirm' button to submit your resume to the database.

When I copied and pasted my resume, the formatting changed. Why?

Our resume posting service uses a simple text format. It does not support any of the advanced formatting options that are available in programs such as Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect. If you are pasting your resume from sources such as these, you will need to adjust the formatting once you have pasted your resume. Since simple text documents do not support tabs, you will have to use spaces instead.

Can I send a cover letter with my resume when I apply for a job on-line?

Yes. When you use the "Apply Now" feature on a job posting you will be given the opportunity to type in a cover letter which will appear above your resume. You may type in a new cover letter, or you may copy and paste an existing cover letter from another document.

I posted my resume to the site. But when I logged into my account again, my resume was gone. What happened?

The easiest way to post a resume to the site is to copy/paste your resume from a Word document. Once you paste your resume, click the 'Preview' button. You will see a version of what your resume will look like to a recruiter. If you like the way your resume looks, scroll down and click the 'Confirm' button. If you wish to make changes however, click the Modify button.

Until you click the 'Confirm' button, your resume will not be added to the system.

What is an Email Agent, and how is it useful to me?

The Email Agent is an automated tool in the WorkDelmarva.com website. It can help you find your new job by automatically searching the site each day and sending jobs to you via e-mail. This way, you will have early notification of new jobs that may be of interest, so you can be the first to apply!

The Agent's search capabilities are based on job *category.* It matches a Job Seeker's chosen categories to the categories that an Employer assigned to their postings. If for example, you choose Customer Service for your search category, the Agent will send to you all the jobs posted the day before that were entered with a Customer Service category. You may also choose keywords that you want the Agent to look for in job postings.

The Email Agent does not review the Job Seeker's resume.

I want a customer service job and the Agent sent me a sales-related position. Why is that?

For example, say a Job Seeker chooses "Customer Service" as their desired category. Then an Employer posts a job that they deem to be part sales and part customer service. So, they choose both the "Sales/Marketing" and "Customer Service" categories. The Email Agent will send that job to the Job Seeker because the Customer Service category is a match.

How do I change my Email Agent categories?

You can modify or delete your Email Agent at any time. Just login to your account page by clicking here.

I logged in, but the site won't let me post my resume. Why not?

This error most often occurs when using an older version of a web browser, typically Microsoft?s Internet Explorer browser older than version 5.5. It may also occur when using a Mac with the Safari browser. Our resume editor is not supported by older Internet Explorer versions, or Safari.

If a user upgrades their Internet Explorer browser to the newest version (which is recommended even beyond using our site), posting a resume should be no problem.

For Mac users, if you download the Firefox browser, you should have no trouble posting a resume.
